The Raccoon Mountain Marathon and Half Marathon training programs are for people interested in starting a running or walking program, maintaining mileage, or training for a spring race.
This training plan works in conjunction with Run Chattanooga’s weekly workouts and group runs. Run Chattanooga does not charge a fee for use of the training program or participation in training groups. Run Chattanooga is the only official training group for the Raccoon Mountain Marathon, Half Marathon, Double Half and Relay. Training plans are designed for beginner to intermediate runners.
You’ll notice on the training plans that we mention Freeze Your Half Off. This is a FREE half marathon (and very large group run for anyone who doesn’t want to cover 13.1 miles just yet) that we host in Chattanooga. Bring a cup or water bottle, and whatever fuel you think you need to complete the run, along with some food for the post-race potluck. This is a multi-out-and-back, no time limit course. Walkers and beginners are encouraged to join us!
